SASR 50th Anniversary Penny Card
SASR 50th Anniversary Penny Card
Official Golden Jubilee Charity Dinner Issue
In 1964, the Australian Special Air Service Regiment was formally raised as a Regiment. Fifty years later, the Golden Jubilee was marked with a series of commemorative events, including the SAS Resources Fund charity dinner held at the Perth Convention Centre on Saturday, 18 July 2015.
This official 50th Anniversary Penny Card was presented to guests on the night.
Encased within the card is a commemorative 1964 Australian penny.
On the obverse sits the iconic Skippy kangaroo beneath the date 1964.
On the reverse, the SAS Winged Dagger insignia is paired with the 50th Anniversary marking.
The presentation card features Ian Coates’ powerful “Moment of Contact” artwork on the front, with charity dinner details on the rear. It also acknowledges the Centenary of the Gallipoli landing in 2015, linking two defining milestones in Australia’s military history.
Issued in limited numbers and connected directly to the official anniversary celebration, this is a genuine historical keepsake honouring fifty years of service, sacrifice and legacy.
