frequently asked questions
THE BRAND AND THE MISSION
Who is NINE SIX FOUR and what is your mission?
NINE SIX FOUR is the official source of SASR memorabilia and apparel. We own the rights to our products and operate with the approval of the Regiment. All profits remain with the SAS Historical Foundation at Campbell Barracks to preserve the Regiment’s history and collection, and to keep its stories alive for serving members, veterans, and their families.
Can the public visit the SAS Historical Collection?
The collection is on base at Campbell Barracks. Access is controlled. The Foundation regularly shares news of open days and approved visits. Families often bring children through when opportunities are available so that the next generation can learn the Regiment’s story. Follow our emails for updates. You can email the SAS Historical Foundation for more information: info@australiansas.com
BUYING AND WEARING OUR GEAR
Are non-serving supporters allowed to wear your apparel?
Yes. Our apparel is for all supporters of the Regiment. Wearing NINE SIX FOUR is not a claim of service. It is a show of respect and a way to help fund the SAS Historical Foundation.
I am worried about stolen valour.
We respect that concern. Wearing NINE SIX FOUR does not claim service. It signals support for the Regiment and helps fund the Foundation. If you have served and prefer to keep a low profile, collectibles such as coins and artwork allow you to support the cause in a more private way.
PRODUCTS
Are your products officially endorsed?
Yes. Our merchandise is approved for external sale by the Regiment. We do not sell qualification insignia that confers status. Our designs celebrate history, service, and striving for excellence.
Why is only the SAS represented, not CDO etc?
We hold official rights to create and distribute SAS and specifically related products. We respect the broader Defence and frontline community and may explore formal collaborations through the correct channels.
How limited are your releases and will you restock?
Most items are limited edition small runs. Apparel designs are released throughout the year and coins are often one time issues. Popular pieces may be restocked if the Regiment approves and demand is strong. The best way to avoid missing out is to join our email list. Many drops sell out to subscribers before public release.
How do I get first access and not miss out?
Join our email list. Subscribers receive early releases, behind the scenes stories, and reminders for significant dates. Many limited pieces sell out to the list before public release. You can sign up to our email list at the bottom of the homepage.
How can I verify authenticity and avoid counterfeits?
Buy directly from NINE SIX FOUR. We are the authorised source for SASR merchandise. If you see identical products elsewhere, they are not approved. When in doubt, contact us with a link and we will confirm.
Where do you make your products?
We use the best suppliers for the job. Many items are made locally in Western Australia, including pewter pieces handcrafted by trusted partners. When we work with overseas specialists, we choose proven makers who meet our quality standards. Every item passes our own quality control before shipping.
What is a challenge coin and what are your coin specs?
Challenge coins are collectible tokens that honour units, operations, and milestones. They are designed to be kept, traded, or displayed. Many of our coins are forty millimetres in diameter and pewter or plated alloys, but specifications vary. Please check each product page for exact details.
Can you make custom unit coins or apparel for my team?
Yes absolutely - we have a wholesale supply capacity and often create runs of products for other military and law enforcement organisations, as well as corporates, at very competitive prices. If you represent a unit or association and wish to create and order any products, contact us with your brief at sales@ninesixfourco.com
Prices and value.
Our prices reflect small batch production, premium materials, local craftsmanship where possible, and licensing and approvals. Every purchase supports the SAS Historical Foundation. In short, you are paying for quality and for purpose.
