The Author

Norman Bainbridge joined The Special Air Service Regiment in February of 1965 as an Infantry soldier and served as a regimental signaller with the inaugural 2 SAS Sqn, including operational service in Borneo during the confrontation with Indonesia. He joined the Corps of Signals in November 1966 and was an original member of 152 Sig Sqn. Serving two operational tours in Vietnam with 1 SAS and 2 SAS Squadrons. In all, completing thirteen years in the Regiment including a six month exchange with the British 22 SAS Regiment.
