A tribute to Australia’s most daring WWII special forces unit.
During WWII, Z Special Unit provided intelligence and conducted guerrilla warfare operations and clandestine raids on a total of 81 operations in the South West Pacific theatre. Many of the unit members were inserted by parachute and submarine and utilised the the iconic 'Sleeping Beauty' - a motorised canoe used for placing limpet mines on Japanese boats. Their legacy laid the foundation for Australia’s modern special forces.
